Cast on in February and it is finally done, in July. In my defense I put it down when it was half finished, also in February, and didn’t pick it up again until last week. I do like the pattern it is easy enough without being mind numbing, and the results are pretty.
pattern: Branching Out
yarn: Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool, dark purple
needles: Clover Bamboo & Crystal Palace Bamboo, US8
cast on: February 25th  cast off: July 27th
notes: When picking up Branching Out again after almost 5 months I couldn’t find my size 8 needles. I found one Clover bamboo size 8 and one Crystal Palace Bamboo size 8. The last half of the scarf was knitted with one of each. I have no idea where the missing needles are. Well, duh, if I knew where they were they wouldn’t be missing.

I woke up cranky this morning and it didn’t get any better when I went into the kitchen and found recycling sitting on the counter, I mean, how hard is it to put it in the recycling box? Then Hubby made himself a cup of tea, did he ask me if I wanted any? No, he did not. Little things I know, but the fact that I was so irritated tells me PMS is in full swing. So, I went shopping.
My first stop was JoAnn where I picked up more Sugar ’n Cream for Mason-Dixon Knitting, the new KnitSimple and a Burda pattern. The child’s cable sweater in KnitSimple is too cute and I think I will knit it up for Bubba.ÂÂ
The next stop was Great Yarns! where I picked up the two skeins of Cashmerino Aran for Fetching and a set of blocking wires.
My last stop was the library to pick up a few things I had put pn hold: A Gathering of Lace, Sweaters from Camp, Knitting Workshop, and Knitting Around on VHS. Do you sense a theme?
Branching Out is now blocked, on the new blocking wires, on my bed (I was shocked at how soft Silky Wool is after you wash it, even while still damp), Knitting Around is on the TV, and I’m about to cast on Fetching, pure bliss.
lace, that is. I finished a project that qualifies for the Amazing Lace, ’bout time. Oh, and I completed the Pit Stop.
pattern: Lacy Mock Cable - July Monthly Dishcloth KAL
yarn: Lion Cotton - Grape
needles: Clover Bamboo US7
cast on: July 25th  cast off: July 26th
I also finished knitting up Branching Out today, not much to look at right now, I’ll block it this weekend.

PS~
While writing this post I got a call from Hubby. He locked his keys in the car, with the lights on. I grabbed the kids and we headed out to rescue him. Luckily he was only a couple of miles away and it didn’t take long to get there. I handed him my keys and he walked over to his car, then came back. “Umm, do you have the key?” “It’s on the ring.” “No, it isn’t.” Shit! when Hubby had work done on his car a few weeks ago I gave him my key, I didn’t get it back from him. Just as we were about to call a tow truck to get them to open the car a locksmith pulled into the parking lot. $40 later he had his keys and when I got home I found the key sitting on the dresser, sigh.
pattern: Garterlac Dishcloth
yarn: Lily Sugar n’ Cream - Violet Veil
needles: Clover Bamboo US7
cast on: July 23rd  cast off: July 24th
notes: I happened across this pattern while surfing blogs. Since I had never tried entrelac, I figured I would give it a try. Love the way it turned out, I’m sure I will be making more of them.
It’s still hot, blech.

What to knit? That is the question. It’s been in the 90s, very hot for the NW, and I am in a bit of a knitting funk. Heck, it’s hot and I don’t want to do anything.
I have several projects on the needles that need to be finished and I don’t really want to work on any of them.
- pinwheel baby blanket
- Lupine Lace socks
- Branching Out
- second toddler sock I need to finish for the Dulaan project
These are the projects I have been contemplating:
- cotton sweater vest (own design) for Bubba
- pullover sweater (also for Bubba)
- dishcloth for KAL
- aran baby sweater (Hubby’s cousin‘s wife is due in October)
- holiday knitting, socks this year, lots and lots of socks
Blah, did I mention it’s hot?
No, not that tequila. The song Tequila that the Univ of Washingtion Huskies Band plays all the time. Hence, the purple and gold colors of the warshrag. I made this MDBD for a friend of my mom’s who is a huge Huskies fan.
pattern: Ballband Dishcloth from Mason-Dixon Knitting

There is a new knitter in my house. Bug wanted me to teach her to knit, again. Last time she got frustrated and gave up. This time I bought her a set of knitting looms.  She took to them like a duck to water. I started by showing her how to set up the first rows and before I had even gotten all the way around the loom she said, “Ok, mom, I can do it myself.” And she did.
This is her first FO, a hat for her baby doll made from two strands of encore worsted in pink and purple. It took her less than two days.
As soon as she finished the first hat she was bugging me to let her “pick out her own yarn” from my stash . . . ummm, hold on there little girl that’s MY stash, get your own . . . no, wait, here . . . and I gave her a bunch of colors of Cascade 220 to choose from. She picked light pink and white, and she is making a hat for herself.  If it turns out too small for her she wants to donate it to “the children who don’t have a hat”, so it will go to the Dulaan Project if that’s the case.
